What to expect when you see us:

Your initial consultation will include a review of your medical history and a physical examination. This may include checking your blood pressure, weight, heart, lungs and blood vessels. Some problems may be diagnosed by your symptoms and the doctor’s findings when you are examined, others may need additional testing such as an ECG, X-ray or blood test. Still, others may require more specialized testing. Your cardiologist may also recommend lifestyle changes or medication to treat your condition.

Tests

If a test is ordered for you, you will find a comprehensive list with information about what to expect, as well as patient education material in the sidebar of this page.

Nuclear Imaging may also be called for. Nuclear medicine is a branch of medical imaging that uses small amounts of radioactive material to diagnose and determine the severity of or treat a variety of diseases, including heart disease. Nuclear medicine tests may identify whether more investigation is needed into signs and symptoms of heart disease and aid in diagnosing and treating your condition.
