Walk in or schedule ahead. On average, Urgency Care offers appointments with shorter wait times and lower costs than hospital emergency rooms. Patients may also stay in their vehicle and receive a call or text when an exam room is ready.

Cost of Urgency Care Visits

Emergency rooms, which are part of a hospital and open 24/7, have higher operating costs than urgent care centers. That’s why an ER visit typically includes a facility charge.

At Mankato Clinic, the cost of an Urgency Care visit is similar to a standard office visit. If your visit includes lab work or diagnostic imaging, such as an X-ray or CT scan, additional charges may apply.

We recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to understand what your plan covers, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs. It’s best to understand your coverage before you need it.

A Team Focused on Your Health

Patients with a more serious illness or injury may be treated more quickly than others who are less ill. During your visit, a provider may determine you need a higher level of care and make arrangements to get you to the emergency room.

Your urgency care provider may recommend a follow-up visit with your primary care provider.

Emergency rooms should be used to treat life-threatening conditions:

  • Chest pain with a history of heart issues, heart attack, difficulty breathing
  • Constant vomiting
  • Major head trauma or loss of consciousness
  • Severe bleeding or abdominal pain
  • Stroke or numbness on one side
  • Sudden severe headaches

Urgency Care is closed the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Easter
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
