Allergy shots changed the game for Danny Wood. With fewer symptoms and better asthma control, he can fully enjoy college life and his internship with the Mankato Moondogs and Habaneros.
“I started getting allergy shots when I was 15 years old. My whole life I had struggled with asthma and allergies year-round. They were worse in the fall and spring, and I would frequently miss school due to the severity of my symptoms.

Honestly, I never knew exactly what I was allergic to. When I got tested, we found out I was allergic to a bunch of stuff. The list includes cats, dogs, grass pollens, shellfish, and dust. No wonder I was congested and short of breath all the time.
I was taking two allergy pills a day, one at night and one in the morning. But dry weather and seasonal factors still led to severe allergy symptoms. If I slept over at a friend’s house and they had a cat or dog, game over.
Dr. Vasan Ramanuja recommended immunotherapy to combat my allergies. With the help of Dr. Ramanuja, and allergy nurses Sara and Alexis, my allergy symptoms have significantly decreased. I don’t take allergy medicine most days, and my asthma flare-ups aren’t nearly as severe or as frequent.
Sara and Alexis are legends. They made the transition to college super easy. I moved two states away and didn’t miss a single dose of my treatment.”
