June 28, 2021 (MANKATO) – Now that COVID-19 has largely receded in our region, Mankato Clinic is closing the COVID-19 Hotline and Respiratory Clinic at the Main Street location beginning July 1. The drive-thru testing location closed on June 25 at Madison East Center.

“These closings are a positive development and significant milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to low COVID-19 case counts and patient volumes, our COVID-19 Hotline and Respiratory Clinic at Main Street are no longer needed. This is great news,” said Dr. Andrew Lundquist, Mankato Clinic chief medical officer.

Patients who have COVID-like symptoms or an exposure are asked to call the Urgent Care phone number at 507-389-8680. Patients may inquire about testing, talk with a nurse or schedule an appointment in Urgent Care at the Main Street location. Urgent Care at Adams Street is not reopening yet. The Adams Street location remains dedicated to Occupational Medicine.

At this time, Mankato Clinic is not holding vaccination clinics. COVID-19 vaccines are now widely available at local pharmacies and other community vaccination sites. Mankato Clinic providers encourage people age 12 and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We are shifting gears to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to patients in a couple of our departments. We are finalizing logistical details,” Dr. Lundquist said.

The Pediatric Respiratory Clinic at the Children’s Health Center will remain open. Children under age 12 are not able to be vaccinated and children age 12 and older are not widely vaccinated yet.

Telehealth visits are continuing for patients who wish to receive care conveniently from home.

Masks are still required for patients and staff in all Mankato Clinic locations in keeping with masking guidelines for healthcare settings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
