MANKATO (June 15, 2020) — As the gyms are reopening and welcoming back members, Thomas Finn, DO, of Mankato Clinic Sports Medicine Department, offers tips to safely return to the gyms for cardio training, strength training and fitness classes.

Mankato Clinic is hosting a live webinar with Dr. Finn called “Heading Back to the Gym: Tips to stay injury free” at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. Dr. Finn will offer advice to people returning to their gym workouts and answer questions from participants. The webinar will also be shared on Mankato Clinic’s social media pages and posted on mankatoclinic.com.

“After being sidelined from gym workouts for three months, don’t expect to start where you left off,” Dr. Finn said. “Ease slowly into your workouts and fitness classes.”

In addition to leading Mankato Clinic’s new Sports Medicine practice, Dr. Finn is an Urgent Care physician. He completed a family medicine residency prior to a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Notre Dame. His clinical interests encompass all aspects of sports medicine including injuries, non-surgical orthopedics, concussions, diagnostic ultrasound, and ultrasound guided treatments for chronic issues. He works closely with Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Physical Therapy and Diagnostic Imaging departments.
