Steps for a successful procedure day
- Expect to be at our facility for 1-2 hours. We strive to remain on schedule, but some procedures do end up taking longer than others. We appreciate your patience.
- Bathe/shower within 24 hours of your procedure to assist with infection control.
Health Check Questions
Please read through these questions before the day of your procedure:
- Have you been sick or taken medication for an active infection recently? If yes, contact us before your appointment.
- Are you diabetic? If yes, check your blood sugar before your appointment and contact us if it’s over 200.
- Do you take blood thinning medications? Click here for a list of blood thinning medications. Follow instructions provided by our office. Call us with any questions.
- You may take all other regular medications as prescribed.
Conscious sedation ordered for your procedure?
- NO: You can drive yourself and have a light diet with no fasting required.
- YES: You will be given conscious sedation. You will not be given general anesthetic. You will be awake and able to communicate during the procedure.
- You must have a driver that will be responsible for you and must be present at your time of discharge for pick-up. If you require a taxi, please notify staff prior to your appointment.
- Fast for 6 hours before the procedure. Clear liquids are allowed up to 2 hours prior. Clear liquids include water, plain black coffee, tea, apple or cranberry juice.
