All Mental Health First Aid training sessions offered by the Mankato Clinic are being held in person. We have put strict COVID-19 safety measures to keep particpants safe-

  • Class size limited to 20 participants
  • Training room configured to allow for physical distancing, keeping group interaction with the training facilitator in mind
  • Masks required for participants that are not vaccinated

We are offering TWO different options for this training:

Adult Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.  See comments about the Adult Mental Health First Aid training from past participants below.

Youth Mental Health First Aid introduces the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.  This course is designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents such as teachers, school staff, coaches, youth group leaders, and parents. See comments about the Youth Mental Health First Aid training from past participants below.

The workshop is an 8-hour course from 7:45am-5:00pm.  The course includes materials and lunch.  The workshop takes place in the Mankato Clinic Conference Room in the Madison East Mall. 

Mental Health First Aid is designed to meet requirements for continuing education credits for most licensing agencies.
