Dr. J. Scott Sanders Dedication at Noon Tomorrow
The Mankato Clinic will be dedicating its new regional center for sleep medicine to Dr. J. Scott Sanders at a dedication ceremony tomorrow, which is also Dr. Sanders’ birthday. Over 150 people are expected in attendance, which include family, friends, health care colleagues and community members. The dedication ceremony will be held at Noon on the front lawn of the Mankato Clinic’s new center for sleep medicine at 120 Augusta Court ( Trail Creek Center).
The public is invited to attend an open house following the dedication from 1 to 6 p.m. Media are welcome to tour the facility at that time, as well.
Sanders, a pulmonologist and critical care specialist, died in May of 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. He practiced medicine at the Mankato Clinic from 1979-2005 and also served as medical director in the Respiratory Care Department and Sleep Lab at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was known by his patients and colleagues as one of the most skilled, thoughtful, caring, humble and respected physicians of his time. His passion for helping others and expertise in sleep medicine is being both remembered and relived through the “J. Scott Sanders Center for Sleep Medicine.”
