Mankato Clinic Announces New Chief Medical Officer

Mark Matthias, M.D. has been hired as the new Chief Medical Officer for Mankato Clinic. Matthias, a family practice physician, was previously Medical Director of Hutchinson Medical Center (HMC). From 1995-2002 he served as Head of Physician Recruitment for HMC and was Chief of Staff for Hutchinson Area Health Care from 1997-1999. Matthias has been practicing medicine since 1989 and received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Matthias is the second physician to serve as Chief Medical Officer for the Mankato Clinic following the retirement of Byron C. McGregor, who is retiring after working as Medical Director since 1994.

Dr. Matthias has a broad base of proven experience and expertise and we are extremely pleased to have him as a leader in our organization,” says Nermoe.

The Mankato Clinic, which is locally owned, is the largest multi-specialty clinic in the Greater Mankato region, comprising of 725 employees with over 100 health care providers. The Mankato Clinic has eight sites in six Greater Mankato communities, including Mankato, North Mankato, St. Peter, Mapleton, Lake Crystal, and Blue Earth.
