Mankato Native Joins Mankato Clinic

Mankato - Katie Donohoe Smentek, M.D., has joined the Mankato Clinic Pediatrics Department. Dr. Smentek, a native of Mankato, received her undergraduate degree in biology magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1998. She received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis in 2002 and completed her residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital, New Haven, Connecticut in 2006, serving as Chief Resident from 2005-2006.

Also in 2006, she was chosen by her peers at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital to receive the Morris Krosniak Award because she “exemplifies the caring, compassionate, and dedicated pediatrician who is competent, caring, good-humored person whom I would want to take care of my children.”
