Interventional Cardiologist Joins Mankato Clinic

The Mankato Clinic continues to expand its cardiology program, which brings state-of-the-art heart and vascular care to Greater Mankato through its partnership with Minneapolis Heart Institute. Yassar Almanaseer, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, has joined the Mankato Clinic and will be working full time at the Mankato Clinic’s Main Street location. Dr. Almanaseer joins Mankato Clinic cardiologist, Manpreet Kanwar, M.D., along with seven cardiology sub-specialists staffed in partnership by the Mankato Clinic and Minneapolis Heart Institute.

Dr. Almanaseer received his medical degree in 1993 from Tishreen University School of Medicine in Syria, and then completed his residency in internal medicine at Bon Secours Cottage Health System in Michigan from 1997-2000.  After completing his residency he was a research fellow at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor from 2000-2002. Prior to specialization in cardiology, he served as hospitalist at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, Michigan. Fellowships in both cardiology and interventional cardiology were completed from 2003 to 2007 at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan. Throughout his career, Dr. Almanaseer has received various awards and recognition for his research and has presented his research at many conferences across the country.

Dr. Almanaseer is focused on helping people with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).  PAD refers to damage or dysfunction within the arteries in the feet, legs, lower abdomen, arms, neck or head.
